"The sun shines not on us, but in us.  The rivers flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substances of our bodies, making them glide and sing."

 John Muir (1838-1914), Naturalist

CranioSacral Therapy is a subtle and non-invasive technique that helps to correct imbalances in the skull (the cranium), spine (the sacrum), and outlying structure using light touch, unwinding, and still holds. This stimulates the body's own healing mechanism to release old, harmful patterns and rejuvenate and balance the brain and nervous system, bringing about relaxation.

The craniosacral system involves a network of tissues and fluids which flow rhythmically through the membranes that cover and connect the brain and spinal column. This rhythm is perceivable to the trained practitioner of craniosacral therapy who listens with their hands. Normally, it flows around 6 to 12 cycles per minute. A disruption in the rate, strength or symmetry of the movement signals dis-ease in the system.

CST releases restriction to the flow and produces a sense of deep relaxation, and greater fluidity. Many people describe the treatments as being akin to floating or flying.

A session typically lasts one hour and is performed on a massage table. It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing to the visit. Often, one falls asleep during the treatment.
